WHAT WE OFFER

We have over 80 activity groups covering a wide range of interests. These are run by our members, in most cases, in their homes. There are details about the interest groups and the times they meet on our 'Groups' page.

We have a meeting each month on the first Friday, in the Weald Hall, Civic Centre, at 2:00pm (doors open at 1:30pm). At these meetings you’ll hear of our latest activities and there are talks which are varied and given by very good speakers - listed on your membership card and the 'Events' page of this website. All members are welcome and so are visitors (who are asked to make a small donation of £1).

You may attend a taster session of a group without being a member of the u3a but you must be a paid up member of Uckfield u3a before you can join any group.

Groups that take place in members’ homes may have to limit numbers due to restrictions of space. If you wish to join a group that is full, you will be put on a waiting list, and we will try to start a parallel group as soon as there are enough people interested.

HOW YOU CAN FIND OUT MORE

Newsletters will be sent by email to all those members having an email address.

Information for members will also be available in other ways:-

1. From newsletters sent to members by email.

2. From notices given out after the talk at our monthly meetings or by speaking to
committee members then.

3. From this website, where you can contact committee
members with your queries and suggestions via the links on the Contact Page.

4. From Anita, our new member’s helper. She will phone or meet to guide you on joining
groups. Please contact the Vicechair to be put in touch with her.

WHAT WE ASK OF YOU

Please look at your emails regularly so leaders can tell you about group meetings and
reply to these so leaders know how many to expect.

Show commitment to your groups rather than attend occasionally. Leaders take time,
care and expense to prepare for group meetings.

Contribute to coffee/tea and any printing costs or petrol if car sharing.

If you can, offer to host a group meeting, lead part of the discussions, give lifts to
outings, talk with new members at monthly meetings, help at our annual Open Day
or Christmas Quiz.

If you have any questions about our u3a or any suggestions on how we can improve it, please tell us.
