Membership / Renewal

Membership is open to anyone who is retired or semi retired living in Uckfield and the surrounding area. Our membership fee is low, just £12 per year, renewable in September, which entitles you to attend the monthly meetings and join as many activities as you wish. To join or renew, click the "Application Form 2025-2026.pdf" link below, download or save the form, then print out, fill in the form and post to the Membership Secretary (address is on the form) enclosing your cheque for £12 and a stamped addressed envelope. Alternatively, you can join / renew at the monthly meetings by card reader.

We are not able to accept on-line payments at this time.

WHAT WE OFFER

We have over 80 activity groups covering a wide range of interests. These are run by our members, in most cases, in their homes. There are details about the interest groups and the times they meet on our 'Groups' page.

We have a meeting each month on the first Friday, in the Weald Hall, Civic Centre, at 2:00pm (doors open at 1:30pm). At these meetings you’ll hear of our latest activities and there are talks which are varied and given by very good speakers - listed on your membership card and the 'Events' page of this website. All members are welcome and so are visitors (who are asked to make a small donation of £1).

You may attend a taster session of a group without being a member of the u3a but you must be a paid up member of Uckfield u3a before you can join any group.

Groups that take place in members’ homes may have to limit numbers due to restrictions of space. If you wish to join a group that is full, you will be put on a waiting list, and we will try to start a parallel group as soon as there are enough people interested.

HOW YOU CAN FIND OUT MORE

Newsletters will be sent by email to all those members having an email address.

Information for members will also be available in other ways:-

1. by emails to all leaders, so that they can read them to members of their groups.

2. in notices given out after the talk at our monthly meetings.

3. on this website. You can contact committee members by using the links given on the 'Contact' page.

4. contact Anita, our new members contact.

WHAT WE ASK OF YOU

Please let the group leader know if you are unable to attend a group meeting.

Contribute to coffee/tea and any printing costs or petrol if car sharing.

If you can, offer to host a group meeting, lead one of the topics or give lifts for outings.

If you have any questions about our u3a or any suggestions on how we can improve it, please tell us.
